Long Trek-Everest Base Camp-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

This 21 night 22 day long trip is a great opportunity to visit the Everest Base Camp, famous for the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world and for its Sherpa people and their culture. Following the trek there will be the chance to visit Bhaktapur, city of devotees and famous for it's architecture, a unique experience.

Start of the trek, the trek begins with a climb to a ridge at 2400m, it then descends into Shivalaya before climbing again to Sangbadanda and Kosaribas. We continue up to Bhanjyang Pass at 2705m and on to Bhandar, a Sherpa village with its own Gompa.

Today the trail begins by descending to Likhu Khola, the path crosses the river and follows it to Kenja, this proceeds a long climb up to Lamjura pass before reaching Sete another Sherpa settlement.

The trek today starts with a long, gradual climb up to Lamjura Pass at 3530m, this part of the trail is covered with frost and often snow in winter and with flowering rhododendrons in spring. The track continues to the pass of Goyem at 3300m this is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar, we then descend into Trakdobuk from here it is a short walk to the Sherpa village of Junbesi at 2675m.

The day begins with a climb up to a ridge at 3080m, from where you get the first glimpse of Everest, from here there is a short walk to Ringmo Khola at 3071m. We then begin the descent to Shindo Pass before dropping down again to a Monastery and a further descent into Nuntala.

Descending to the Dudh Kosi at 1500m, the trail crosses and follows the bank on the other side to Dorakbuk and then on up the hill to Bupsa at 2300m.

The trail starts on a gradual climb with gorgeous views of the Dudh Kosi until reaching a ridge at 2900m, it then continues to climb through Mushe and Chaunrikarka at 2680m before descending to Ghat 2550m

Today we climb through the Gompa where a collection of stones are carved with the Buddhist chant. We walk along the river to Phakdin at 2650m then cross it on a long swaying bridge; the trail follows the river to Benker at 2700m and then crosses back to climb up to Chomoa and then Monjo, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park, before dropping down to Jorssale back across the river at Dudh Kosi and on to Namche Bazaar 3440m.

Today we walk through lush rhododendron and pine forests where the magnificent views ultimately come into view above the tree line and continue through the glacial valley until we reach Pheriche at 4252m

The trail climbs up to Phalang Karpo at 4340 m then to Duglaha at 4620m before reaching Lobuje at 4930m. The mountain views are brilliant and the sunset on Nuptse towering directly ahead of Lobuche is especially striking.

Climb to Mt. Kalapattar. The trail climbs to Gorak Shep at 5160m, this is a very hard but worthwhile day of the trek as well as one of its big challenges. This small peak offers the best view you can get of Everest without actually climbing it. Descend down to Gorak Shep for the night.
