Everest Trek-Home Stay-Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

This 16 night 17 day package is an ideal opportunity to see the highest mountain in the world, involving a high altitude trek in a cold climate. Mt. Everest, known in Tibetan as Chomolungma (Goddess Mother Mountain) and in Nepali as Sagarmatha (One Whose Forehead Touches the Sky), is the ultimate dream of all serious trekkers and mountaineers. The Everest region is famous for its Sherpa community and during the trek, you will spend every night with Sherpa families giving you an amazing experience of the culture and hospitality of this unique people. The trip ends with a few days sightseeing around Kathmandu and Bhaktapur both cities are ripe with the ancient culture and life of the Nepalese people.

Day Two

Fly to Lukla, the gateway of the Everest National Park

From Lukla we begin the trek with a descent to Phakding at 2650m, this walk is beautiful and serene.

Day Three

The trail begins with a long, steep climb up to Namche Bazaar, you will be distracted from the climb by the marvelous forests of beautiful blue pine, fir, juniper and rhododendron. Upon reaching the top and arriving in Namche Bazaar at 3440m, a trading centre for the region of Solu Khumbu, you will glimpse your first sight of the top of the world - Everest.

Day Four
     
 
Today is set aside for acclimatization

Today will be much more relaxed and you will have the chance to explore the surrounding area where you can see the local museum with exhibits on the bio-diversity of the area. Tonight will be the first night that you will spend with a Sherpa family, staying the night in their home a unique, once in a lifetime experience.

Today's walking takes a slightly longer route along the trail with some magnificent views of the mountains of Lhotse, Kantaiga, and Ama Dablam. Before spending the night in Tengboche at 3875m, famous for its Buddhist monks and their monastery

The trail continues on through lush rhododendron and pine forests, after a while we pass above the tree line and continue on up the glacial valley, with some awesome views of the Himalaya. Stopping for the night in Pheriche at an elevation of 4252m.

Today the trail first climbs up to Phalang Karpo at 4340m before again climbing to Duglaha at 4620m, eventually reaching Lobuje at an elevation of 4930m. The mountain views from this area are brilliant and the sunset shining off the mountain of Nuptse, which towers over Lobuche is especially beautiful

Today's walk will take you up Mt. Kalapattar and will be both the hardest yet most worthwhile of the trek. From Lobuje the trail climbs up Mt. Kalapattar, this small peak offers you the best view of Everest short of climbing it, the trail then descends to Gorak Shep at 5160m.
