Day Two

Drive to Pati Bhanjyang where the trek starts at Sundarijal 14km North of Kathmandu. From there the trail goes up in steps along the side of a water pipe, through the forest to a reservoir dam. Crossing the dam we then climb up through the oak forests and cultivated farm land. Passing through Mulkharka and Chaubas to the top of the Sheopuri ridge at 2440m, and then descending from the North side of the ridge down through oak forests to Patibhanjyang.

Day Three

Proceeding to Khutumsang, the route climbs up the North ridge through terraced fields to Chipling at 2165m. Crossing the pass at 2455m, we walk down through the forest to Gul Bhanjyang then keep going up along the ridge through terraced fields and thin forests to a height of 2545m, then the descent down to Khutumsang 2470m.

Day Four

Proceed to Mungen, through confierous and rhododendron forests where the trail goes up north to a ridge at 3030m, then on to Mungen at a height of 3285m.

Day Five

On to Thare Pati. A sharp climb to the top the Thare Pati ridge and then following along the top of the ridge before going down the vertical side of the ridge through a fully grown rhododendron forest to 3505m.

Day Six

On to Gapte Cave, descending sharply down and then rising up just as sharply to the cave at 3565m. The trail passes through rhododendron forests mixed with coniferous and deciduous trees. Bamboo and boulders which are covered with moss can be found in the surrounding juniper and rhododendron scrub. The Gapte is remarkably good for bird watching.

Day Seven

Walking through the undulating scrub covered hillside to Gosainkund, we go across the stream then start the long climb to the Laurebina pass at 4600m. Here the scrub becomes shorter and is replaced by alpine grassland and stony ground where we pass by four lakes. It is an excellent area to see Rose Finches and Grandalas

The trail to Chandan Bari remains fairly level through rocky country, passing lakes; it then goes up over a
small ridge and becomes a strenuous climb down to Chandan Bari. The rhododendron and fir deciduous forests close to the Chandan Bari are excellent for birds.

You will have a few early morning hours to go bird watching around Syabru, in the forest region of Chandan Bari. Then climb down through fir, oak and rhododendron forest cross Trisuli Khola and track throughout scrub and to Dhunche1965m.

Five hour drive to the Royal Chitwan National Park, land of the rhino and World Heritage Site. This is one of the best preserved National Parks in South East Asia and offers an excellent wildlife experience.

A half day excursion with canoeing and a jungle walk exploring the jungle in search of a variety of wildlife including the endangered greater one-horned rhino and the Royal Bengal tiger.

Elephant bath - a new exciting program where you can swim with the elephants.
