Royal Trek-Safari Adventure-Royal Chitwan National Park-Pokhara-Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

This 15 night 16 day trip includes a unique experience trekking and staying with local families in the Chepang Hill Siraichuli area, rafting on the Trisuli River, a safari adventure in the Royal Chitwan National Park and sightseeing in Pokhara and Kathmandu Valley’s.
     
Day One  
  Meet at the airport, transfer to hotel

Day Two

7: 00 am Drive to rafting start point at Benighat on the Trisuli river

Day Three

1: 00 pm Lunch on beach at raft landing point in Mugling  
2: 00 pm Short drive to Hugdi, the gateway of the Chepang Hill Siraichuli trek. The trail from Hugdi climbs up through sections of degraded broadleaf forest along terraced fields etched into the hillsides in fascinating geometric patterns. As you near Jogi Puri, you can see large groves of orange trees and are treated to excellent views of the Trisuli Valley. Many species of colorful birds can be seen along this trail. In Jogi Puri 1200m is a mix of Brahmin and Chhetri communities.

Day Four

After a cup tea or milk proceed to Hattibang,

8: 00 am Breakfast on the way with a Magar family
10:00am The trail will gradually climb up towards the Hattibang passing through a fantastic waterfall and a settlement as well as broadleaved forests. From here the Himalayan scenery is excellent and the surrounding area of the Trisuli valley is marvelous

5: 00 pm Overnight home stay with a Magar family, in Hattibang at 1300m  
6:00 pm Dinner and a special cultural dance of the Cheepang and Giripuri communities
   
Day Five

The trail continues to Siraichuli through luxuriant oak and rhododendron forests, this is a fantastic area for bird watching and the several different varieties of orchid create a dazzling and colorful landscape. The view from this area is spectacular and some 29 different Himalayan mountains can be seen, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I & II, Manasulu, Ganesh, Langtang, and Gaurishanker-Rowaling. The trail descends to Jandala, which is a Chepang community. Jandala is the first major Chepang village on the trek and there are lots of opportunities to see the local culture. We take a tour of the village where we will see the unique houses made of stone, mud and plaster with slate roofs. Here you can experience the authentic Chepang foods, many of which are collected from the local forest. The typical staple diet of the Chepang is dhindo (millet, buckwheat, corn, or barley flour mixed into a thick paste) served with a vegetable curry of eggplant, string beans, leafy greens, potatoes, wild yams, and or stinging nettles.

Day Six    
5: 00 am Early morning rise to go to Siraichuli, the best sunrise viewing place in the Mahabharat range in Nepal. It is the highest peak in the Chitwan District at an elevation of 1945m with fantastic views of the Chitwan valley to the South and the Trisuli valley to the North in addition to the snow capped peaks of the Himalaya. The superb sunrise over 29 different mountains of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I & II, Manasulu, Ganesh, Langtang, and Gaurishanker-Rowaling is an incredible sight, and you will be able to see a sea of cloud over the Terai valley.
9: 00 am Breakfast with a Chepang family, a special millet pancake with fresh honey and milk
10:00 am Climbing down into the Terai region through beautiful settlements and forest to Shaktikhor
2: 00 pm Lunch on the way with a Chepang family
5: 00 pm Overnight stay with a Gurung family in Shaktikhor
6: 00 pm Dinner with a Gurung family
   
Day Seven
7: 00 am Breakfast with a Gurung family
8: 00 am Sightseeing around Shaktikhor including a visit to the Parja museum and bat cave and the gorgeous waterfall where there is a remarkable water grinding mill.
1: 00 pm Lunch with a Tamang family  
2: 00 pm Drive to Royal Chitwan National Park the land of Rhino and World Heritage Site, once maintained as a royal hunting reserve today the park is renowned for its protection of endangered wildlife, including the Royal Bengal tiger and the greater one-horned rhino.
4: 00 pm Welcome drink

Sightseeing and sunset views on the Riverbank with drinks and snacks

Day Eight
6: 30 am Breakfast
7: 00 am Half day’s excursion including a canoe trip on the river with some fantastic scenery followed by a trip to the elephant breeding center, one of only two elephant breeding centers in the World.
12: 00 pm An exciting new addition to the programme, bathing with elephants  
1: 00 pm Lunch at hotel  
2: 00 pm Drive to Bishajari Tal and a RAMSAR site, it is located inside Barandavhar corridor forest, an exceptionally good place to spot a variety of birds and wildlife
6: 30 pm Dinner at hotel
   
Day Nine  
6: 30 am Breakfast
7: 00 am Half day Jungle walk exploring riverine forest and grassland, a great chance to spot various wildlife including the endangered greater one-horned rhino and the Royal Bengal tiger.
12: 00 pm Lunch at hotel  
2: 30 pm Elephant safari in search of various wildlife.  
5: 30 pm Sunset views from the river bank with drinks and snacks  
6: 30 pm Dinner with a special dance performed by the indigenous Tharu people  
     
Day Ten
